Kyoto protocol - Carbon - Copenhagen

For the first time in recorded history, humans are altering the planet in ways that endanger its basic life-support systems.

Human emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases have changed the Earth's atmosphere, unleashing potentially catastrophic climate changes that threaten the survival of human civilization.

Unabashed and unthought for Geo-engineering through unregulated growth and capital markets funding fossil fuels burning unchecked; and contributing in mindlessly fouling the atmospheric Commons has brought us to an impasse.

Kyoto focuses on how we can use the market powers again to bring balance and garner international efforts to confront the crisis.

We want to explain why international cooperation between poor and rich nations has become the critical piece of this legislation.

The Kyoto Protocol is a historic agreement, the first of its kind to be based on the creation of a new market - a market based on trade in user rights to the global atmospheric commons.

Detailing how the Kyoto Protocol originated, the debates and conflicts leading up to its signing in 1997, the main protagonists and special interests placed behind its creation is essential to going forward... by understanding how we can build the future successor to it.

Kyoto is about how the Environmental Parliament can address the current issues that threaten to undermine the environmental market mechanisms.

EP wants to explain the importance of the carbon market - potentially the largest commodity market in the world - to the environmental organizations and the society at large.

After understanding how the carbon market can help to close the global income divide while resolving the climate crisis, we are certain the EP activists and campaigners will engage and support the management of the atmospheric Commons through regulated market mechanisms.

We have been brought to the current level through unchecked markets for emissions....

Then, we will all understand why we need to save Kyoto and built upon it the Copenhagen accords.
