AIDS orphans in Sudan are numbering in the hundreds of thousands - same as HIV/AIDS orphans elsewhere in sub Saharan Africa.

The ones that are also HIV/Aids infected and whose life expectancy is less than two years of age can be helped greatly with the introduction of simple Antiretrovirals. Delivering ARVs to these children is our mission. Children who, face a horrible plight unaided, as they aren't only uncared for but they are the ''throw aways'' ostracized from their village and communities in a circumstantially logical form of triage. With very little to spare, the communities, see the meagre help they can offer to the HIV/Aids orphans as a waste of valuable resources.

Because this is a pragmatic response, and because there is this tremendous unmet need for the children in Sudan - mainly due to the expulsion of all NGOs and the UN by the Bashir government - we formed the Africa Aids Orphans charity to help. Since Bashir and his government were indicted by the World's Court of Human Rights for practicing genocide against his own people in Darfur and Southern Sudan, their response was increased terror unleashed on the people. Sudan's government responded by sacking and removing all foreign volunteers and prohibiting all NGOs from delivering any service within the borders of Sudan. The Khartoum government of ''genocidaire'' Bashir expelled even those very few remaining activists who were long term carers from the Sudan Interior Mission, and all the carers, who were helping the children of the South Sudan [set for independence in 2011] and Darfur, in the most barbaric way.

Sadly all NGOs fearing for their safety, complied with the orders of Dictator Bashir, upped stakes and left.

In this vacuum of service, and care, and in view of the certain death for the AIDS orphans - we chose to stay and ACT.

Act against this humanitarian catastrophe facing the children.

Act against the evils perpetrated in our world by indifference and short termism thinking of purely personal safety manner.

Here is where, the Environmental Parliament chose to step in because we already work in the area and have a deep knowledge of the needs.

We are people like You who care and have been there, and have seen the need and decided to do something about it.

We've done our bit by delivering AntiRetroViral medications to the children of the Refugee camps. Now we need You to do yours.

Help us help the children. Because this effort is now massive. We need your help, and because of that, we now have come together to seek volunteers, partners, medical professionals and funders in order to organize this as a sustainable and stand alone effort for the AIDS ORPHANS OF SUDAN.

World Health Organization chief Margaret Chan and UNICEF chief Anthony Lake are supporting this mission by calling for greater funding for children's health and for children's HIV/AIDS off setting treatments through the use of Anti Retro Virals [ARVs]. They spoke thus for the greater health benefits through spending for children's general medical applications. Applications of vaccinations and immunization, arguing that they represent the greatest value for money and fitness of purpose for improving global health. And are the best way to achieve the UN's Millennium Development Goals. The two United Nations leaders further offered proof of the value of greater funding for Vaccines and Immunization, which has provided immunizations to more than 250 million children worldwide, saving at least 5 million lives.

Donations by individuals, organizations or governments would help greatly, on the basis that ARVs for HIV/Aids children and orphans of Sudan and Zimbabwe are critical to their survival now. Because of the lack of any NGO to deliver them in Sudan and because of the corruption that eats up the supply in Zimbabwe. The fact that HIV/Aids kills pregnant women and mothers first is why we have so many HIV/Aids orphans in sub Saharan Africa. And that is why, we  work with the local community to provide the ARVs along with proper simple yet necessary nutrition, because the effectiveness and efficacy of the ARV medication is magnified with adequate food intake. The fact of the matter is that starving neglected children will not survive on ARVs alone. We don't care what vehicle the ARVs, the money and the service delivery comes from but what we do care about is that it is handled in the way that best serves the children. That is the strategy. All though I think it is unlikely we will get to the great numbers overnight, I do think we will see a dramatic turn in the curve towards achieving survival, stable recoveries, and increased children's Life expectancies. From the dismal, less than 18 months life expectancy for HIV/Aids children, at present, to a miraculous reach into adolescence and adulthood, is what we aspire going forward and seeking your help.

And to share with you that we are not wooly idealists and romantics of a bleeding heart, nor innocents abroad, we have figured out the short term possible goals and the metrics that will take us there. Easy enough to plot it on a spread sheet.

So here it goes:

A simple and achievable goal for the children that we reach is to reduce by two-thirds the number of children who die before the age of two. Once we get there we can then reduce by two thirds, again, the number of chidren dying by the age of three. And onwards like that till we help children reach this most precious age of five years of age. An age that gives them a far more solid footing at Life.

That is the Goal. And please don't forget that momentum breeds momentum. People like to be part of a winning formula. With more effort going in, we are seeing more progress now than ever.

Lend us a hand.
